Ladies’ Event, Baptisms and Teahouse
[Esy] Every fall we organize an afternoon of spiritual formation for ladies with tea and cookies in the Paulus Outreach Center. This year we invited those who had been believers or had been in touch with us for a long time and had heard the Gospel many times from us. It was a joy for me to work behind the scenes again, coming up with ideas for the decoration and being responsible for the music and video. The theme was “Taste and see that the Lord loves you” – through the story of Leah in the Old Testament, and the personal testimony of the speaker. We got a lot of positive feedback and by my own experience I can say that this fall afternoon turned out to be really good.
[Sanyesz] There are a lot of new developments in the youthministry, too: three of our youth got baptized recently, one of them was Szabolcs who accepted Christ this spring. I mentioned him in a previous post (Building) as he joined the boys’ Bible-study group. For the first time this year we had a teahouse, and twice as many people showed up as usual – most of them are kids who wouldn’t come for the “regular” youth meetings. One of my non-believer English students brought his band and performed a small concert. It was a mixture of jazz and Hungarian folk music – wow.
Please, pray that God would continue His work in these kids’ lives so that they would have an apetite for spiritual things, too.
Please, also pray that we could take our youth program to the nearby secular high-school as we’ve already started the discussions with the headmaster about the possibility. Also we’d love all the kids with whom we made contact to somehow come into our youthgroup. Thanks.
