English Camps and Converse 3.0

It was so great to work and serve with American teams – teams that had the “know-how” and were extremely well prepared. This year I felt that I was probably better use as I was, too, equiped with the teaching experience of the past years. I was thrilled to see how the schedule evolved and new friendships formed. The most interesting however, was when I ended up in a conversation during one of the classes with two 17 years old guys about meaningful relationships. It was a real breakthrough as I don’t thin we could have ever brought these boy in our youth program, and here they were listening to my “teaching” on dating the Biblical way! God has been working in miraculous ways.

Our personal responsibility was the Converse! English and Sports Camp, and we’d been preparing for it for many many months, both our American partners and us. We definitely had to fine tune the camp since last year. For example we had to limit the number of participants because we’d run out of space in the Paulus Community Center. There were still 93 of us this year, and we ahd other ways and dimensions to grow. One of the greatest improvement of this year was the time named “eye-to-eye” where the American leaders would spend some personal time with 2-3 Hungarian students from their group. The feed-back was extremely positive from both sides and it gave an excellent oppotunity for the American students to share their faith with the Hungarians. Two of the Hungarian girls even accepted Christ – praise God.

The other great change was that by this year’s camp our youth had grown so much in their faith that they took part not only as participants but active helpers. They didn’t just come to have fun, but they wanted to give to their fellow campers.

The first briefing for the helpers. (The obvious separation of the two teams didn’t last for too long :) )

Would you join us in prayer for those who indicated their desire to accept Christ to follow up on their decision and for every participants to get plugged in our youth program. (As you might remember from last year, there were only 2 people who joined our group long term.)

Please, also pray for us in the following two projects: we’re going to serve in a youth camp in Orahovica, Croatia. My task is to organize the morning workshops in the following topics: school, friends, relationships, faith and calling. After this I’m heading for the training for the Sziget Music Festival and then the Festival itself.
